Although white oak sounds like it is “white” it has more of a natural or yellowish color to it. The homeowners of this North End house in Boise, Idaho wanted something new and stunning. They had been remodeling the whole house and were bored of the natural look and wanted something more “modern”, yet timeless. They decided to achieve the look they saw in magazines and tv shows was to stain the hardwood floor that they had. After sample pictures and sample stains had been passed back and forth it had been decided “cherry” DuraSeal stain was the stain of choice.
Below are the pictures of the outcome:
Process of refinishing:
- 40 girt belt sand
- 80 grit edge
- vacuum
- fill the full floor
- 60 grit trio
- vacuum
- 100 grit edge
- 100 grit trio
- waterpop
- stain
The cherry stain mixed with the beauty of the white oak was awesome. If you are interested in staining your floor and want some help, give us a call and we can fully explain the process.
