Staining red oak is awesome. The wood accepts the stain perfectly and really is the perfect go-to wood for anything stain related. The House we did the red oak in was stained with a golden oak, water popped. The finish coats applied was UV Elite by Arboritec. Below is our sanding process for most stained red oak floors.
Sanding process used:
- 40 grit belt
- vacuum
- 60 grit trio
- 80 grit edger
- vacuum
- 100 grit trio
- 100 grit edger
- vacuum
- waterpop
- 3 coats finish
The Finish used for the floor was UV Elite. UV Elite is a Ultra-Violet product that is much stronger and durable than any 2k finish on the market.
