A-Max Hardwood has laid more UV wood floor finish than another company in the northwest region of America. Last week A-Max Hardwood got a call from BYU asking for A-Max hardwood to give a demonstration on how UV finish is applied to wood flooring. Did you know that BYU has over 750,000 sq. ft. of wood flooring in their buildings?! 750,000 is a lot of sq. ft. of wood. For this particular demonstration we would be in the racquetball courts doing a simple demonstration on old hardwood that has yet to be refinished. The refinish of these 16 courts with UV finish is set to start in February, they haven’t been touched in over 15 years!
Reasons for BYU wanting to use UV floor finish:
- Healthier for the students
- Faster cure time
- More durable
Products in the Demonstration:
- Basic Coatings UV Light Force Gloss
- HID BullDog
- HID Mako HandHeld Unit
- PadCo Nylafoam
The demonstration went very well and BYU will soon surpass A-Max Hardwood for the title of “Most used UV Finish” in the Northwest region. A-Max Hardwood was very excited and happy to help the university of BYU. We hope your recommendations on how to apply UV correctly & how to use the UV equipment correctly will help them along the way. It is very exciting to see UV floor finish expanding into more commercial applications.
UV Floor finish is the way of the future. With no toxic fumes gassing off for weeks at a time, little to no downtime in your own home and a more durable finish why wouldn’t you use UV floor finish?
