The Boise bench is clustered with gems of houses. The houses in this area almost all have beautiful hardwood floors underneath their old and scratched surfaces. In the case of this house, the hardwood was under the carpet and the homeowners had no idea for 20 years that they had hardwood! The hardwood they uncovered was scratched and awfully orange looking in appearance. The finish had debris all in it and needed to be refinished badly. Below are some pictures of the floor when we showed up.
To get a floor like this back to a new natural state with wonderful colors and a natural look we do the following process on the floor:
- 50 grit belt sand
- 50 grit edger
- vacuum
- 80 grit edger
- 80 grit belt sand
- vacuum
- 100 grit trio
- 100 grit edger
- vacuum
As you can see our main priority before going to the next step is vacuuming. Vacuuming helps ensure your final product has no dirt, and debris in your finish. Our Bona Atomic Trailer helps also keep the floor very clean. This vacuum will literally suck everything and anything off the floor!

The floor looks completely different. The finish used was a UV product by Arboritec, sheen level was “satin”.
