This is another Red Oak installation from A-Max Hardwood. The finish is our newest product, UV or ultra violet coatings. These coatings are the hardest the industry has ever seen. They use a technology that isn’t new, but is new to the hardwood application. It uses UV light to cure the floor instantly. This means after we are done you can walk in shoes or put furniture on the floor. You can learn more about UV coatings and finishes here.
When the homeowner called us he wanted the following – very durable, stay in his house, low VOC, use the floor the next day and a finish that left no smell. UV allowed us to fulfill all his wants. You can see the final product below. It came out beautifully.

The sheen level of this was a mixture between semi-gloss and satin. The reason we love this sheen level at A-Max Hardwood is because it makes the wood “pop” and at the same time it makes it so the floor will hide dust and other marks better for homeowners. Note: we can offer from eggshell to high-gloss, semi-satin is just our preferred sheen.
