After 3 months we were able to go back to check one of our first UV jobs out. We were interested to see the wear of the coating in a more commercial area. The adult day center has around 20 people daily. They use wheelchairs and crutches daily on the floor. I was worried when we went back the coating would not hold up as nice as I had hoped due to the commercial area. Wow, I was amazed. The floor looked almost as we left it. There were 3 wheelchairs on the floor as we showed up and around 25 people on the floor for a birthday party. The business owners/school teachers were rather impressed with how it was holding up, even their landlord was impressed with the whole UV coating process. You can see the more about the floor refinishing process of this business here.
Pictures after 3 months:
Unfortunately, we were unable to take more pictures since we were unable to have any adult school participants in any pictures. However, you are able to see the floor and the sheen is the exact same as the first post pictures.
What really helped the floor finish stay so flawless is that the coating is instantly cured. Waterbased coatings should not be walked on or touched realistically for 7 days. By using waterbased prior to 7 days you have a much great chance of anything touching the floor creating dings or flaws. Another aspect to its durability is that UV is a different chemical makeup vs waterbased finishes.
