Red Oak is by far the most used hardwood for flooring in America. Red Oak is mostly grown in the eastern half of the United States. It has been used for railroads, fence posts, and mining timbers. Red Oak is normally pinkish to a red color. The wood is an open grain wood and accepts stains exceptionally well compared to other hardwoods.
