One of our newest employees has been working hard to learn all he can about hardwood refinishing and installation. Lucas came with zero experience and in the last 6 months has been trying to learn everything he can – day in and day out. His progress is evident in his latest work.
Before Christmas Lucas came to me in the office and asked if he could give his mother and father in-law a present of refinishing their floor. He also mentioned in the same breathe he wanted to do everything himself! I naturally said “of course”. Refinishing his in-laws house would be a great measuring tool for him to see where he was with his sanding capabilities. It was also an environment that would be an easy intro to how a job worked start to finish without help.
I am happy to say, Lucas, you did an amazing job and the job looked absolutely stunning. I am so proud of what you have accomplished and what our employees were able to teach you. This job, while you did everything was a team effort over the last 6 months. You were able to achieve this from hard work and dedication to a trade/craft.
