The training was done in Portland, Oregon at the Cronin Flooring Company. The training took part over 3 full days and was presented by Rob Zehnder and Kjell Nymark. Both proctors are possibly the most knowledgeable hardwood flooring experts we have had the pleasure to meet. Rob is a Vanguard and Kjell is an Advanced Masters Craftsman – both are certified inspectors. The knowledge between these two was simply amazing.
During the 3 days we did the following:
1 day of instructional teachings in the classroom
- Covering installation practices and standards
- Covering refinishing practices and standards
1 day of installation of the following:
- floating floors
- engineered hardwood
- strip plank flooring
1 day of Sand and Finishing
- Belt sander
- edger
- buffer
- seal coat
- finish coats
All portions of the above were graded for a a pass or fail. Upon completion of the course both Allan and Eli were presented with certificates of passing and completion.
