This floor was hidden by carpet over the years and was in dire need of help. The floor had a wax on it that had been worn off and grey hardwood was showing through. It also had some sort of substance that did not want to scrape off of it. The before pictures are below:
Since the floor was in such bad shape we needed to use a very rough grit belt to get the substance off the floor. A floor scarper would not get it off.
Sanding process:
- 40 grit belt sand
- vacuum
- 60 grit belt sand
- 60 grit edger
- vacuum
- 80 grit edger
- vacuum
- 100 grit trio
- vacuum
- 3 coats finish
The finish used on this floor was basic coatings streetshoe NXT. The changes you see here took only 2 days!
